Fear of
Being Unhappy

January 2nd 2020

We are all innately takers. In every aspect of our lives, we look only to take. To the extent that, even when we give, we’re trying to gauge what we can take in return. And we do this out of nothing but fear. Whether it’s salary, love, joy, health, success, or power; we may think of it as compensation, remuneration, reciprocation, self-protection even, which is to be duly expected. But in truth, it’s all fear. The fear of failure, of being let down and hurt, of being short-changed.

And so, we take. We take without giving our best. And when we give, we give only to get back. We don’t give, period. And in this commerce of fear where we take, take, take, we wonder why we’re never full?!

How will we feel full when it is fear that is motivating us to act?

What then is this fear?
We must understand that while our behavior, our demeanor, our actions stem from some fear, THAT fear is just an offshoot of the deepest, greatest fear - the Fear of being unhappy.

And it rises from our deepest desire - the eternal pursuit of Happiness.

Everything we do, we do for happiness and we do it out of the fear of losing happiness. We think whether it’s the job, the marriage, the dog, the house or the holiday, it must be bigger, better and before ‘the others’. Only when we are ahead of everyone else will we really know happiness. This thought sets us off on a never-ending race where we spend all our lives trying to either get ahead or push someone behind.

All this is just our attempt for a fix of happiness or to avoid the lack thereof.

But there’s no need for any of this. Once you understand and acknowledge that all the happiness, and unhappiness, doled out to you is hardly in your own hands, and that you are, and always have been, looked after by the Universe, the Higher Power, you will know Happiness. And it will be without any caveats, any asterisks, any fears.

Delve within.
To uncover all that you hold back
and all that you are.

What you’ve done is identified the source of true Happiness - You. Because Happiness is within, not without. Only once you know this can you shun the demon that fuels your fears, unhappiness.

So, delve within. Bridge the Bond with you and you’ll never fear.

My‌ ‌race‌ ‌is‌ ‌only‌ ‌with‌ ‌me.‌
I‌ ‌only‌ ‌have‌ ‌to‌ ‌be‌ ‌better‌ ‌than‌ ‌I‌ ‌was‌ ‌ ‌
to‌ ‌progress‌ ‌on‌ ‌my‌ ‌journey.‌ ‌
No‌ ‌sooner‌ ‌do‌ ‌I‌ ‌know‌ ‌this,‌ ‌ ‌
the‌ ‌angsat‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌pressure‌ ‌I‌ ‌always‌ ‌feel,‌ ‌ ‌
drops‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌at‌ ‌peace.‌ ‌
I’m‌ ‌happy.‌”
