It’s a simple truth. The most basic truth. The greatest truth. I already am all that I desire. It is because I believe that I am limited and lacking, that lack and limitation is my reality. I am what I believe. I am my deepest desires, I am unlimited love, I am unbounded bliss. The doubt and the darkness is all ignorance, my ignorance about my reality. I am not this limited body and mind - I am the witness of this body and mind, that inner voice that says, I am happy, I am sad, I am rich, I am good...That I Am. The one who never feels old even as the body decays, that is who I am, that pure self.
And to be That, That who I truly am all I need is a new perspective. Shed all the identities I carry, shed the darkness that shrouds me to journey deep within to the light that I am. Unlearn all that I’ve considered to be true so far and relearn in a manner that leads me to the buoyant, constant and blissful ‘I’ within. AhamSaha is this journey to the I within.
Because inside, not outside, is where all the happiness resides. I can reach this joy, this deep, inner joy only by being in touch with the source of joy, the source that lies within me as that untapped consciousness. Consciousness is the shining of existence and it is this chaitanya, or consciousness, that is a shining beacon of light that the mind reflects and makes me conscious and aware. Consciousness is constant, my ability to reflect it, to capture it and channel it depends solely on how pure my mind is. The purer the mind the better it reflects Consciousness. The more silent the mind the better it channels consciousness.
By turning inwards and creating my inner Universe. Tending to my inner Universe which is dank and dark and which talks to me only in silence and stillness. Inside is the well of love, the comforting embrace of acceptance and deep nourishment. Once you are in touch with the Universe inside - you are never alone. And as you make that journey to your inner light, you get acquainted with faith, equanimity, compassion, inner strength, a sense of humour, deep gratitude, complete surrender, and ever-new joy.
I have always been seeking in the wrong place and so happiness eludes me.
I am the centre. I am all that I seek.
All I need to do is let go and trust.
